Golden Rules: How to Identify
| Sentence Type | Key Identifying Features (Clues) |
|---|---|
| Simple | Only ONE Main Verb. Look for phrases like: "On seeing", "In spite of", "Due to", "Being", "Having + V3". |
| Compound | Two equal clauses joined by: and, and then, but, yet, so. |
| Complex | One main clause and one dependent clause starting with: When, Though, Although, As, Since, If, Which, That. |
